Need more fuel capacity for your 986-race car? Kokeln realized that there was a shortage in this market when all that was available were cells with approximately 16-gallon capacities. The development of our fuel cell culminated in several POC class- and overall-wins. We then commissioned Fuel Safe, recognized as the industry leader in fuel cell technology, to produce our custom fuel cell for the 986. Because it uses Fuel Safe's "Pro Cell" technology it is approved for use in FIA, SCCA, PCA, POC, TCRA, NASA and many other sanctioning bodies and comes with a 10-year warranty. The Kokeln 986 Fuel Cell was designed to offer more fuel capacity in the confined space of the rear of the car. At 27 gallons, we offer more capacity for the 986 than any other cell on the market. We utilized the space behind the suspension, surrounding the transmission, to help with the balance of the car. Another benefit of the Kokeln Cell is the underside of the cell has a slope similar to a diffuser to help clean the airflow exiting from underneath the car. It is recommended that experienced mechanics install the Kokeln 986 Fuel Cell. Installation requires the removal of the spare tire well and modification of the passage way to the fuel filler.
